Hambatan-Hambatan dalam Menangani Telepon Hambatan terbagi dalam dua hal, yaitu (1) faktor alat dan (2) faktor komunikasi. 1. Faktor Alat Hambatan dari faktor peralatan/alat, yaitu 1. suara berisik 2. suara timbul tenggelam 3. surat mengecil 4. saat memutar/menekan tombol telepon, tidak terdengan nada kontak 5. nada sambung tidak terdengar 2. Faktor Pemakai (Komunikan dan Komunikator) Hambatan dari faktor pemakaian, yaitu 1. berbicara monoton dan tidak jelas pengucapannya 2. berdecak atau berbicara di telepon sambil makan 3. meninggalkan telepon sambil bicara kepada orang lain 4. berbicara terlalu cepat 5. desah napas terdengar 6. berbicara sambil bersenda gurau. 7. berbicara sambil kepala bergerak ke kiri dan ke kanan 8. letak gagang telepon terlalu ke atas/ke bawah.
